• King Solomon had been richly blessed by God in fame and fortune. God instructed Solomon to make 300 shields of gold to be placed in the Temple during worship. They represented GOD’S STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE.
• During the reign of Solomon’s son, Rehoboam; the Egyptians raided the Temple and took those 300 shields.
• Embarrassed by the defeat, Rehoboam instructed his craftsmen to make 300 new shields from brass. The brass was a cheap imitation, but if they were polished daily, they could be passed off as real.

Common people. Maybe you heard their names in a childhood Sunday school class. They’re not often the champions or the go-to sermon illustrations. They probably didn’t stand at the foot of the cross or even hang next to Jesus on one of their own. But they pepper the pages of the Bible, reminding us that were not alone.
Just like you and me, these ordinary people stumbled and struggled. They faced their own sin and came face to face with a God who not only wipes it away, but also makes the common extraordinary. They discovered that an encounter with the living God changes everything.
Dive into the lives of more than twenty of the Bibles most compelling characters through inspirational selections from the writings of bestselling author Max Lucado.

Living in Light of Things to Come

Visions of the end of the world populate our movie screens and news headlines, causing us anxiety and fear. But, for Christians, the end times are not something to be afraid of. In the book of Revelation, God has provided a preview of what’s to come so that we might confidently trust God with our future. In this ten-session series, Dr. Tony Evans will walk through the book of Revelation verse by verse, uncovering God’s final plan for human history and our eternal destiny. This is more than a strange book of symbols—it is a call to worship God and live faithfully in the present.
