Dear Prospective Ukraine Volunteer

Your interest in volunteer missions in Ukraine is exciting to us. God has planted in us a deep love for Ukraine and allowed us to coordinate many volunteer teams since 1995. Ukraine Challenge International, Inc. began in 1999. We have assisted 450 volunteers on about 50 different teams since that time. We would be happy to help you in any way possible in your consideration of missions in Ukraine. We hope to learn more about your specific interest in Ukraine and what you want to do. So, after reading this letter, please let us know what you have in mind.

Our teams normally begin in early June and continue through the end of July. Dates at other times can be arranged. We have Medical/Dental teams, Children's/Youth Camp teams, and Construction/Renovation teams. These are just the primary tasks for teams. Each team will do other ministry as God opens the doors and as needs arise. Of course, evangelism is the primary goal of any of these teams. If you or others you know would be interested, we have vacancies in almost all teams at this time.

• Costs are $1,800 (this can vary slightly depending on actual airfare). This includes airfares, meals, translators, transportation in country, housing, hotel costs on the return trip, insurance--basically everything except meals bought on the return trip.
• Team members typically stay in the home of Ukrainian families. A few churches have sleeping facilities at the church.
• We work through the invitation of the Ukrainian Baptist Union.
• The teams go for two weeks, usually leaving the USA on Friday or Saturday, arriving in Ukraine on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Teams work until Thursday of the second week.
• "Tour and Sight-seeing Day" is normally on the last Friday.
• Return trip departure day is normally Saturday.
• There is an overnight stay in Amsterdam, or other European city, on the return trip.
• Teams arrive back in the USA normally on Sunday.

Deadlines & Preparation Schedule Checklist:

Immediately: Begin spiritual preparation now with daily prayer and Bible study.

Immediately: Apply for a passport or check the status of your present passport.

Immediately: Get at least 6 passport photos made for Passport and Visa applications.

February 1: Send $250 deposit to me at the mailing address below.

March 1: Send Passport to me. (Make sure you sign it!!!)

March 1: Send Ukraine Challenge Application Form to me. (For international insurance)

March 1: Send Ukraine Visa Application Form to me.

April 20: Send $1550 or Balance of Cost to me.
