Nifty-Fifties is a group of people 55 and over that meet at
1:00 p.m. at Ryan's in North Myrtle Beach.
June through August meetings continue each month but at 2:00 p.m.
The program opens with a short devotion and prayer. There is
a guest speaker or entertainer as part of the program. Speaker
subjects cover a wide range of interests such as retirement,
social security, political issues, community activities and
many others. Normal time is one hour. We have special lunches around the holidays.
There are no dues.
Folks attending put $1.00 in a fund that is used for cards.
When the balance is sufficient, the fund is used to offset the
cost of special lunches.
The purpose is the fellowship, information and travel. Recent
trips have been to the Panama Canal and on to Peru and Chile,
Hawaii, Alaska and others such as land trips such as crossing
Canada by rail, Branson, Missouri, and other places of interest.
We have even done trips to Baltimore, New York City, Bar Harbor,
Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia,
Boston and finished by stopping in the Amish country in Pennsylvania.
