And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.— John 14:13 (NIV)

Lifeguard Missions

There is an opportunity for a short term International or North American missions right here in North Myrtle Beach. It’s for visitors or locals, churched or unchurched – it’s interaction with lifeguards. YOU can be a missionary, on our beach, by walking up to a lifeguard with a cold drink of water and a snack. Tell the person that YOU are a Christian and are bringing them a cold drink and snack because Jesus said, “…when you do it in my name….it’s the same as if you did it for ME…” If you’re not brave enough to say words about Jesus, just take a drink and snack! (They love your extra motel goodies, too.) Take the time to THANK them for looking after you and your loved ones.

2016 North Strand Lifeguard Supper Summary

LIFEGUARD/BEACH SERVICE/ BEACH PATROL Summary for 2016

2016 was a wonderful summer for our Tuesday night suppers and fellowship.
Thanks to everyone who helped in any way…money, prayers, helping serve or clean up,
donations of motel goodies or prizes. We served over 1100 suppers to guys and girls
from 10 states (most USA kids are from around our area) and Czech Republic (30+)
and Slovakia(12). This was the first time we went over 900 meals and the first time
we had over 100 for a supper! Only the last two were under 90 and that’s because
kids left to go home to college. God is good! We always had enough food!

Thanks to First Baptist Church North Myrtle Beach for providing the fellowship hall each Tuesday and 4
Sunday School Classes : Friends in Christ, Kindred Spirits, In Focus and Faith,
Hope & Love Class for 4 suppers! Also, Wampee Baptist, Buck Creek Baptist,
Faith Baptist (Aynor), Jamestown Baptist (Conway), North Strand Community
Church and The NMB Optimist Club for providing wonderful meals.

Once again, Thank you McDonald’s for a sandwich coupon for all! (125). These
are coveted prizes!

Several restaurants donated food: Logan’s, Outback, Sticky Fingers,
The Grill House and The Shack. We appreciate you and thank you! Thank you
Domino’s for a great discount for our pizza party!

Since we have zero budget…thanks to everyone who gave us money for prizes and
a few supplies. We spent carefully. Some of our money was spent to provide 2 goody
bags each for the 18 lifeguards who participated in the East Coast Lifeguard Competition
at Folly Beach, SC. Each bag had a note saying FBCNMB was cheering them on
and reminding them OUR LIFEGUARD WALKS ON WATER!

Many of you and our tourists took water and snacks to the beach for guards and
beach service. YOU were a missionary! They tell me and they are thrilled to be
thanked.

Faithful helpers – Linda and Steve Whitlatch (in training to take over) and Gerald Smith
made it flow smoothly. Thank you Ruth Spivey; a non church member who came to see what
was going on and came several times to help! Thank you pastor Wayne for your presence and support!

Blessings for “feeding HIS sheep”,

Beady C. Moore (The Church Lady)
